The National Charter Schools Conference (NCSC) by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is where the movement meets as the largest national education conference of educators, advocates, and leaders in the charter community. NCSC25 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Dr. Stephen G. Peters
President/CEO, The Peters Group

Dr. Peters has been a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, director of secondary education, and superintendent during his 38 + year career. Most of his experiences have been in schools that significantly grew quickly, resulting in National and State Blue-Ribbon distinctions. In 2015, Dr. Peters was the featured subject of an education documentary filmed in the U.S.A. by the BBC titled “American High School, A School in the South.” The documentary won “Best Education Documentary in Europe in 2016 and was purchased and rebroadcasted by National Geographic in 2017.

As superintendent, Peters led his school district to being named a National School District of Distinction in 2020. Stephen, an avid sports fan and former athlete, was inducted into the Colleton County Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Dr. Peters founded the Nationally recognized Gentlemen & Ladies Leadership Club programs, was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and was Past President of the International Literacy Association (ILA). Stephen is also a best-selling author of several books: Do You Know Enough About Me to Teach Me; Teaching to Capture and Inspire All Learners; Choosing to Believe: Creating a Framework for School Success; Inspired to Learn: Why We Must Give Children Hope. He is also the co-author of One, A Process for Building Schools of Excellence for Every One and Everyone, and Leadership Transformation from A to Z: What Great Leaders Do.

Dr. Peters is President/CEO of The Peters Group(thepetersgroup.global), a National and International Education Consulting Agency. Stephen delivers keynote addresses, provides professional development workshops for leaders, teachers, staff, students, and parents, and serves as an executive coach to board members, superintendents, principals, and assistant principals throughout the U.S.

Stephen received his B.S. from Hampton University, his M.Ed. from Old Dominion University, and his Ed.D. from South Carolina State University. He and his wife, Dr. Angela Peters, reside in Columbia, S.C.
