Ben is a career government relations professional with a focus on education and labor policy. He works with the rest of the Federal team to advance the interests of charter schools on Capitol Hill through legislation and the federal appropriations process.
Before joining the Alliance in February 2024, Ben lobbied for other nonprofit organizations such as the National Association of Home Builders and the National Right to Work Committee, where he helped millions of Americans make their voices heard in Washington, D.C. on the issues most important to them, including labor relations, workforce education, and immigration policy. Prior to that, he got his start in politics through grassroots organizing on college campuses. He is also an expert in Congressional procedure and a spreadsheet enthusiast.
Ben grew up in the military, and now lives in the D.C. area with his wife Addyson Garner and their daughter Eleanor. When not advocating for charter schools, he can often be found busking around D.C. or backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains.
