Celia Hagerman is the senior director of major gifts for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Prior to joining the National Alliance, Celia was the vice president of development for the Center for Urban Renewal and Education in Washington D.C. Celia came to the nation’s capital from Florida, where she lived with her family for 12 years. She brings more than 23 years of experience in development, donor relations, and nonprofit management to the team. Her career in development started in her home city of Salamanca, Spain, with the University of Salamanca Foundation, where she was the first employee. At the University of Salamanca Foundation, Celia thrived while bringing fundraising to a culture with little history of supporting charities.
Back in the United States, Celia has worked for well-regarded nonprofits like the American Red Cross, The Florida Holocaust Museum, and the American Cancer Society. Each organization has provided a new fundraising area for Celia to master, making her a well-rounded development professional.
Celia graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with a degree in Business Management and Organizational Development.
