Katherine (Katie) Burke is the senior director of policy with the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Prior to joining the National Alliance, Katie spent over eight years at the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB), the District’s charter school authorizer, where she oversaw the organization’s compliance oversight, including procurement contracts and high school graduation requirements, as well as its sector planning work and the charter application review process and school expansions. She also managed DC PCSB’s open enrollment and governance oversight. Prior to DC PCSB, Katie worked at Harvard Business School and Beveridge & Diamond, PC. She also spent time at Brookline High School in Brookline, MA. Katie earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University in 2012, specializing in Social Studies Education, and she graduated magna cum laude from Colby College in 2009 with a double major in History and Women’s Studies.
