Laura is the manager of federal advocacy and outreach for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Before joining the National Alliance, Laura spent over thirteen years working in the youth development and education sectors. She first served as a Teach For America corps member, teaching middle school science in rural south Louisiana. From there, she went on to hold leadership roles in organizations serving youth and young adults in Baton Rouge, LA and its surrounding parishes. In her most recent role, she oversaw operations and student recruitment for a local college-access nonprofit.
Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and her master’s in public administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Laura currently resides in the Chicagoland area and enjoys spending time with family, volunteering, and exploring local sites.
