New Schools, New Opportunities for Success: Prairie View Community School and Wyoming Classical Academy

New Schools, New Opportunities for Success: Prairie View Community School and Wyoming Classical Academy

This feature is part of the National Alliance’s 2023 Back to School Month campaign.

As summer’s warmth gives way to the promise of a new academic year in Wyoming, two new charter schools open their doors to eager students and hopeful communities. Prairie View Community School and Wyoming Classical Academy both open this month with missions to ignite minds and meet the needs of their respective communities with a unique and innovative approach to learning.

Prairie View Community School

In the quiet rural community of Chugwater, Wyoming, a different educational venture is coming to life. Prairie View Community School stands as a testament to the determination of parents, grandparents, and residents who recognized the need for alternative educational options. Prairie View will focus on individualized learning plans built on students’ unique interests with a mission to foster critical thinking, communication, and collaboration through innovative learning experiences both within and beyond the classroom walls.

Through the immersive landscape of project-based learning, students will be empowered to become lifelong thinkers who are not only intellectually engaged but also responsibly and respectfully committed to their personal growth, their community, and the wider world.

Wyoming Classical Academy

In Mills, Wyoming, the Wyoming Classical Academy will serve students in grades K-6, focusing on nurturing their intellectual and moral growth. The school’s mission is to equip students with not just academic knowledge, but also the moral and intellectual tools to become well-educated, grateful citizens who are prepared to safeguard a free and flourishing republic.

Guided by the principles of American Classical education, the curriculum at Wyoming Classical Academy is designed to align with the natural stages of a child’s learning journey: grammar, logic, and rhetoric and deliver a content-rich education in liberal arts and science.

Prairie View Community School and Wyoming Classical Academy begin an exciting journey this school year and we look forward to cheering them on as they enrich their Wyoming communities.
