Todd Ziebarth, Senior Vice President of State Support and Advocacy at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, released the following statement:
“On Friday, Montana’s House of Representatives passed The Community Choice Schools Act (HB 562), a bill that will bring innovative public education options to the state via high-quality public charter schools. Montana is one of only five states in the nation without a charter school law.
The passage of HB 562 signals that Montana is ready to provide more public education options to families and educators. We urge the Senate to support charter school legislation that will provide parents and students more high-quality public school options that are held accountable for academic results and held responsible to Montana taxpayers.
We applaud Representative Sue Vinton, the bill’s sponsor, for championing this critically important bill in the House.”
