Washington, D.C.- Join the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools for a reception honoring African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American leaders who head high-performing, high-quality charter schools. This largest-ever convening of diverse charter school leaders are in Washington to demand Congress provide continued funding to meet parental demand for charter schools throughout the nation, and to spotlight how the charter school model is closing the achievement gap for all students, especially students of color.
This reception will be co-hosted by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, the Diverse Charter Schools Coalition and the National Congress for Black Women. In addition to nearly 50 charter school leaders from 18 states, invited attendees include elected officials and their staffs, and education advocates. Please join us for this opportunity to recognize and celebrate diverse school leaders from across the country!
WHAT: Reception honoring the National Alliance’s School Leaders of Color, who are in Washington to advocate for public charter schools and the 3.2 million students who attend them. Media attending will have the opportunity to speak directly with the nation’s leading school leaders of color who are changing the status quo by offering a high-quality public education to all children in their communities, regardless of their zip code.
