The National Alliance submitted an amicus brief to the Mississippi State Supreme Court in support of appellees in case regarding public charter school students right to access state and local education funding.
Though charter schools are just beginning in Mississippi, they will provide an important educational benefit to Mississippis most disserved students. Charter school parents value the opportunity to choose what is best for their children. Upholding the constitutionality of charter school funding in Mississippi keeps that ability to choose in place without any demonstrable harm to plaintiffs or to traditional public schools.
