As public charter schools have grown and expanded their impact across the nation, networks of public charter schools have emerged. These organizations have school models that can be consistently replicated at multiple locations. Many of these networks have been on the leading edge of innovation, and have produced outstanding results. The largest networks serve tens of thousands of students.
This issue brief describes the innovative practices at a few of these high performing charter school networks. It also offers additional ideas for strengthening the special education offerings for students enrolled in networked public charter schools.
