The Health of the Public Charter School Movement: A State-by-State Analysis is a companion to the National Alliance’s annual rankings of state charter school laws. This new annual report uses 11 different measures to determine how well a state’s charter schools are performing, innovating, and growing. As we have learned, it is not enough to just pass a strong law; we must also make sure that it is implemented well and that other factors for success are in place.This report provides a helpful framework for determining the overall health of the charter school movement. We are pleased to expand our work to address the question of how states are growing and strengthening their public charter schools.
